Most Transit roof racks cost over $4k, require heavy machinery to install and are not DIY friendly. Our brand new modular Transit High-Roof rack is half the price, can be installed by a single person in less than a day, and can hold anything and everything (solar panels, light bars, decking, rooftop tents, awnings...etc.)

The side walls are water-jet cut from 3/16" powder-coated aluminum, and mount to the van with 8 brackets that bolt into the Ford factory inserts. Crossbars are black 8020™ aluminum extrusion making it very flexible and easy to mount up other items. The rack comes with 5 crossbars, 1 for the wind fairing, but can hold many many more.

Yes, we do!

What size solar panels are compatible with this roof rack?
The rails on our racks are adjustable to accommodate a variety of solar panel sizes. We recommend solar panels that best fit the layout of your roof.

Do you sell solar panels?
No, not at this time. Most solar panels are very similar in quality as they have become commoditized. We normally choose solar panels that best fit our roof layout; this depends on roof fans, cargo boxes, decking or other requirements up top.

Can I attach a light bar to the fairing?
Yes, the fairing mounts to an 8020 cross rail. The 8020 makes it very easy to mount any accessories to it like a light bar. Most light bars come with mounts that will bolt directly to the front 8020 rail.

New Roof Rack

I just installed the Curious Campervans roof rack on my new 2024 Transit. It’s an easy install, super strong and flexible in terms of mounting options. I mounted solar for now, but also plan on adding lights in the future. The 8020 extrusion design makes that easy to do. It’s a great design and I highly recommend it.

Great roof rack...

The rack arrived in great condition, clever packaging by Curious Campervans.

I was able to install the rack myself without help, just went slowly and carefully. The rack's pads lined up perfectly with the Ford Transit's factory mounting holes. Used a heat gun to remove the plastic covers and ski wax remover (solvent) to remove the residue.

The rack looks great and will fit my solar panels and awing perfectly. We've already gotten compliments!

148 Roof Rack
