Sprinters are measuring 72” window to window and most adults need a few more inches to be able to sleep comfortably. Our fibreglass Pods are a pair of window extensions installed on the rear quarter panels of a Sprinter van, increasing its width. Backland Expedition Gear's insulated Regular Depth Pods will make it possible to build a 76” long bed and at the same time maximize your interior camper space.
The 144 Regular Depth Pod set will give you a 76” (193cm) long bed. Both driver and passenger’s side pods are regular depth. They offer cutout and window installation for additional cost. They do not recommend the use of an awning style window on the passenger side of the 144 wheelbase pod.
There is a space of 3/4” (20mm) between the sliding door and the passenger's side Pod to make sure the door will slide freely with snow or ice build up. The exterior surface must be protected from UV rays with bed liner, paint or a vinyl wrap.
The flat exterior surface makes it possible to use windows up to 46” x 20” (116x50cm). The window cutout can be done using a jigsaw and a fine tooth blade.
The specifically formulated gel coat is use as a sanding substrate for automotive parts that will be subsequently painted.
As this is a customizable item, production timeline is generally 2 weeks.

Colour Match Paint + Stone INDY Protection
Choose this option to provide the best protection of your ClimateCore PODS with a beautiful colour match finish. This option includes INDY coating on the front and bottom, protecting the extended surface from rock chips. It is then painted with a colour match paint specially formulated for this application.
