AUTOTERM Baltica Diesel Heating & Hot Water System – 120V
AUTOTERM Baltica Diesel Heating & Hot Water System – 120V
Bring hot showers and comfortable cabin heating to your campervan, RV or boat with the AUTOTERM Baltica. This integrated hydronic system uses a dedicated diesel liquid heater to warm a coolant circuit, with an internal heat exchanger supplying domestic hot water and connections for compatible interior heating equipment.
This 120V package includes the Baltica system, Baltica Flow 5D heater and Baltica Control panel.
Hot water and interior heat in one system
Wash dishes, rinse off after a day outside and enjoy a warm living space. AUTOTERM lists approximately 6–10 minutes for hot water availability after activation. Interior heating can be configured with radiators or fan coils, while compatible heated-floor installations offer another way to distribute warmth. Actual performance depends on installation, starting temperature and heating demand.
Electric heating support lets you use suitable shore power or an appropriately sized inverter system to reduce diesel runtime. A solar installation requires the necessary battery, inverter and available power; the system does not connect directly to solar panels.
Dedicated diesel heating
The Baltica Flow 5D provides 5 kW of heating output. The manufacturer's heater specifications list a maximum fuel consumption of 0.62 L/hour, operating electrical consumption of 42 W and startup consumption of 122 W. Approved fuels listed for the heater are EN590 diesel and EN15940 HVO100.
AUTOTERM reports testing the Baltica system at 2,800 m. Consider operating conditions and the manufacturer's guidance when planning higher-altitude use.
Baltica Control
The included Baltica Control manages coolant pumps and compatible heating fans automatically, stopping fans when the target temperature is reached. Temperature-based demand and relay operation can control compatible third-party heating equipment. Secondary compartment heating and GRID mode management are also supported.
Standard AUTOTERM Comfort Control panels cannot be upgraded to provide Baltica Control functionality. The dedicated Baltica heater and controller are required.

Installation and coolant requirements
Installation must follow AUTOTERM's instructions and be completed by qualified personnel. Mount the tank vertically using its original brackets, with ventilation and at least 5 cm clearance on every side. Route the overflow safely outside or into a drain tank.
The heater-to-tank coolant piping must not exceed 3 m. A separately mounted heater must sit within ±50 cm of the tank centreline. The additional heating loop is limited to 6 m, with radiators or fan coils no more than 1.5 m above the coolant pump.
Domestic-water applications require non-corrosive propylene glycol compatible with aluminium and stainless steel. Use AUTOTERM Aluminium EKO Coolant or an equivalent meeting the manufacturer's requirements. Do not fill the coolant circuit with water or ordinary automotive antifreeze. A domestic-water flow regulator is required.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 13 L tank a fresh-water tank?
The 13 L specification describes the expansion tank in the coolant circuit. Domestic water passes through a separate internal heat exchanger.
Does Baltica blow warm air directly?
Cabin heating requires connected radiators or fan coils. The system supplies heated coolant to those components.
Can I use a standard Flow 5 heater?
The Baltica system requires its dedicated Baltica Flow heater version; standard Flow 5 heaters are not compatible.
Does it need maintenance?
Follow the manufacturer’s schedule for leak and safety-valve checks, electrical inspections, annual coolant checks and flushing every two years. The diesel heater has its own maintenance requirements.
