The fine pores of the filter pad keep all particles larger than 0.04 mm (40µm) out of the water. For comparison: the diameter of a human hair is about 0.08 mm and is therefore twice as large.

Very small contaminants such as grains of sand, rust particles or microplastics are effectively filtered out of the water. This ensures that the water entering your system is free of disruptive and potentially harmful particles. This not only improves the water quality, it also makes regular tank cleaning easier and extends the life of your equipment.

Visible effect

Depending on the quality of the incoming water, different amounts of particles can settle on the filter pad. If the water contains a lot of coarse sediment such as sand or pipe deposits, the pad can be cleaned of coarse residues using a brush. However, if the flow is significantly restricted and cannot be restored even by manual cleaning, it is necessary to replace the pad.
