RV Propane Requirements & BTU Performance

This cooktop operates on low-pressure (11” W.C.) propane, which is standard in all RVs. If your RV does not have a pre-existing propane system, a low-pressure propane setup is required.

Since RV cooktops are designed to be more compact than household cooktops, they produce less heat than standard home burners. A typical household cooktop has an average BTU rating of 10,000, whereas this cooktop is optimized for travel and varying elevations.

Elevation Performance: Rated for up to 4,500 feet. Above this elevation, BTU output decreases by 4% per 1,000 feet due to reduced oxygen levels. For example, at 8,500 feet, the cooktop will perform approximately 16% lower than its rated BTUs.
