Does the SOK battery have low-temperature protection?
Yes. The BMS inside the battery will prevent charging below 0°C in order to protect the cells. It will allow the battery to discharge in freezing temperatures. If you need to charge the battery in freezing temperatures then we recommend the heated versions.
Can I store these SOK batteries in the cold?
The lowest safe storage temperature is -6°C. For any temperatures below this, you should bring them inside or add a heating pad of some sort. If a heating pad runs out of power and the battery falls below -6°C, damage may occur.
Do the SOK batteries fit into a standard "group size" battery box?
No they are likely too big to fit into standard boxes. Many people put them in tool boxes or any enclosed unit that protects them from the elements. The metal case units are not fully waterproof while the plastic case (marine version) are 100% waterproof.
Can I use any charger on the SOK batteries?
The batteries have a 7 year manufacturer warranty. If you are having issues with the battery we are here to help. In the rare case of a warranty claim we will ship you a new battery and deal with the claim with SOK. The 7-year warranty covers anything that fails or doesn't stand up to the manufacturers' specs, and includes both the cells inside and the BMS.

How smart are we talking?
They have a built-in brain.
Referred to as a Battery Management System (BMS). These batteries protect themselves from surges, high and low temps, over and undercharging issues, and even have built-in Bluetooth capabilities to communicate directly with you via your phone!
Good to -20ºC (-4ºF) with automatic low temperature disconnects so you will never have to worry about ruining a battery again.
They come with 7 year warranty and and tested to last a rediculous 4000-8000 cycles. That's 10-20 years of daily cycles.
The exact same, grade A LiFePO4 cells, but with the added benefit of internal heaters. If you plan on charging up in negative temperatures the heated option is for you.
The heaters will never drain your battery as they only kick on when the sense sufficient charge current.

This appears to be a good quality battery. I decided to pay the extra - compared to strangely-named/unknown batteries online - for the 'reassurance' that I bought long-life and a company that I hope will be around to honour the 7 year warranty, should it be needed. The built-in BMS is handy. The app is a bit flaky, sometimes not connecting immediately, but eventually, always does. And the batteries require at least a couple full charge/discharge cycles to 'calibrate' the BMS which can be a bit of an inconvenience if you want to use the battery immediately.
